Look, compare, and color together

First, look at all three clouds before picking one. Ask, “Which cloud takes up the most space on this page?” Your child can point before using a pencil.

Next, look at the large cloud at the bottom. Ask, “What do you notice when you compare it with the clouds above?” If your child is unsure, trace each outline with a finger and look again together.

Finally, let your child choose a color for the biggest cloud. Say the word cloud together, then color its letters if your child wants to. There is no need to finish every part in one sitting.

Keep the conversation simple

Try “Show me a smaller cloud” or “Which one would need more crayon to color in?” These are optional conversation prompts for the adult, not additional worksheets included in the PDF.

This page compares drawings. It is not a cloud-identification chart or a weather experiment. Keep the focus on what your child can see on the page.
